"We see a burgeoning market for our TDM voice delivery platforms all over the world," says Sangoma Technologies CEO David Mandelstam. "By partnering with Halo Kwadrat, we now have the opportunity to extend our presence in Europe with a partner who understands the market and is well known to the local soft PBX community." The first Open Source software PBX implementation supported on Sangoma hardware is the Asterisk project. Asterisk is a complete PBX in software. It runs on Linux and provides many telecommunications features including voice over IP (VoIP). The Asterisk system interoperates with almost all standards-based telephony equipment using highly cost effective hardware such as Sangoma's AFT series T1/E1 WAN cards.
